The Merry Moments of Christmas Celebrations

-The laughter of my nephews.
-The flicker hogging the bird feeder in the backyard.
-Peppermint flavored coffee with visiting friends.
-Baking cookies and singing carols at the local mission.
-Christmas Eve services.
-Smiles on my parents faces.
-Dinner at the Chinese restaurant and the opening of fortune cookies.
-Waking up on Christmas with no presents under the tree for me and being happy about it.
-Hearing my eldest nephew's happiness at the shirts I bought him and hearing the words out of his mouth that they were great because "he needed them."
-My sister's melt-in-your-mouth sugar cookies.
-Helping mom pick out wool sweaters requested by my brother.
-Christmas day phone calls from my siblings.
-Being stuffed with Indian food at the house of one of my high school friends.
-Having my best friend in town for the week.
-Realizing that she and I have kept in touch enough that we are still up to date with each other even though she lives on the opposite coast of our nation.
-Taking my sister and her sons out to the light display on the coast.
-Having my nephew make a wish in the wishing well for snow on Christmas and having it come true-the first time snow has fallen in the major valley cities of Oregon on Christmas since the 1930s.
-Holding the baby of my best friend's younger sister.
-Laughter with Granny in the kitchen as we worked on meal time preparations.
-Running down the streets in our neighborhood with my younger nephews.
-Feeling the softness of the rain fall on our heads last night as I hugged my good friend good bye.
-Reading next to the glow of the Christmas tree.
-Watching old Christmas movies on TV. Bah humbug!
-Fires by coffee ground recycled logs.
-Working on applications for new beginnings: school, scholarships, and jobs.
-Large cups of tea, fuzzy slippers, and big blankets to keep warm.

Hope you all celebrated a delightfully merry christmas!
