P90X Review at 2.5 Weeks In

Hi all!

It's been a busier last week and let me tell you---motivation is HARD to come by to work out so much now that I'm working both jobs again. It was so much easier when I was just working some from home. I'm definitely glad I was able to set up the DVD schedule as I did, so my off day falls on my latest teaching night.....and this week it felt great to actually take a day off.

I struggled a bit more last week and into this week as my muscles (and me overall) are in that tired stage, where as during the first week, my muscles were just getting used to the work-outs. My reaction to each DVD is still hit or miss as to the level of difficulty. Overall I think that I still expected it to be much harder all around rather than something that I can alter to my level of ability.....although it's nice to be able to do so. I love the Chest & Arms weights DVD, but Kenpo X still seemed a bit ridiculous last week.

I also am eating fairly decently but haven't seen the usual results I see when I start a new work-out program. Granted it's only the third week in and I'm definitely feeling my muscles strengthening especially in my core, but that also means that I'm in that transitional period of looking and feeling thicker. My larger jeans are tighter than I'd hoped to be at this point, and I'm just incredibly hopeful that I'm actually going to slim down rather than just build muscle. The last two years my main exercise routine has been cardio only so I was able to maintain the size I wanted, and I'm hopeful that the "Lean" program will get me back there. I know my boss who completed P90X slimmed way down while still getting "ripped," and I'm hopeful by the time it's all said and done with the program that I'll be looking like I want.

But first things first, I've got to keep with it!  So here's to continued motivation, because I'm going to need it!
