Just Can't Blog Enough....About P90X & Other Happenings

Now "they" tell me that they've been enjoying reading the barrage of posts lately (which FYI the new term starts next week so this is the heads up that posting will probably massively drop off again......) and I did a new work-out today, so folks, I'm blogging about it and everything else rattling around in my brain too!

.....now technically I was supposed to do Cardio X again today, but since I did it on the day that was supposed to be my rest day....I decided to jump and do Plyometrics instead. Plyo isn't ever on the docket for the Lean plan and I'm not exactly sure why, but hub just did it last night on the Classic plan and said it was a kicker, so I decided to give it a go. Granted I did not push myself as high on the jumps or as much as I could have---it was still a good work out and I completed each exercise---but I didn't feel necessarily dead either. I'm realizing that this whole work-out program is one that is intense but frequently you don't notice just how much it is working until the next day. Plyo was a lot of jumping, strengthening, cardio etc but no arm work and no abs---so in some ways I felt like I was getting a break....but we'll see how I feel tomorrow! (And just in time for tomorrow's push-up/chin-up routine-Woo...hoo....)

We've tossed around whether or not we're still going to go snow shoeing tomorrow. Our friends aren't able to go so we might just push it back also, but a big part of me would really love to be outside relishing in some natural beauty and physical conditioning in a real life setting....plus the dogs would LOVE IT! :) We also have been wanting to go check out Body Worlds however (we have a buy-one-get-one and I've been wanting to see it ever since it first came out) and I have some prepping I still need to get done before classes start on Tuesday. Most my work energy the last two days has gone to helping one of my employees overcome some stuff he's attempting to organize his way out of--definitely awesome to help him in any way I can but means there are a few things I need to focus on before it gets too crazy busy into the daily term doings. So as much as I'd love to snow shoe--another weekend really might end up being better. We'll see how we feel in the morning.

I was thinking about going to our hometown next weekend over the long weekend, as more than likely we won't have the time to get down there until after this term. Hub's "sister" is due any day also, so if the baby arrives we'll try to go for sure. One of hub's Army buddies he hasn't seen since his first duty station is coming to Portland next weekend though, so that might complicate matters slightly.

In other news: it's COLD outside! My fleece hoodie was zipped up throughout the duration of tonight's work-out in the garage and during the final stretches I had steam rising up off my body. Tonight's the first night I also warmed up the organic coconut oil I bought last week and massaged it into my dry, winter skin. Coconut oil w/ a bit of self-massage=awesomeness! I'm missing some of those 80 degree winter runs I used to be able to do down in Louisiana though...especially since I just chatted with one of hub's Army buddies who also was another of my running buddies down there!

I'm already able to tell that I'm going to need to meal plan and make sure to take food options with me to work. The last two days I've been on campus longer than expected and fallen into my last term work habits of not eating, which leads me coming home super hungry and slightly irritable. With the intention to work-out after work, I need to make sure that I'm getting enough water and food on the three main days that I'll be working both jobs.

Tonight I made one of my best smoothies yet--banana, coconut milk, coconut flakes, and blueberries. And with that once the Blazer game is over, hub and I are off to grab happy hour at our local McMenamins--there's a gardenburger and microbrew with my name on them! Yum!
