Day 5-Legs & Back

Today was Day 5 of my 90 day P90X routine, but before I tell you about the work-out, let me just mention the intensely sore lower abs I woke up with this morning after the ab work at the end of last night's Yoga X. Wowzers! Still feeling a bit of a kink in my touchy spot on my back, but no pain and I plan to have hub give it a bit of a popping tonight. ;)

One more thing to tell you about today relating to the overall work-out completion, keeping true to our only buy used---hub purchased a dumb bell free weight set off craigslist today. Thus tonight was the first time I could use some weights (5lbs each) for some of the lunges & squats that we completed. (We being me and the individuals on the DVD. Hub's re-arranging the garage tonight trying to turn it into a work-out center for us....much to my chagrin...., but I think this means he plans to start P90X in the next few days).

Today's main DVD was Legs & Back---mainly based on a variety of squats, lunges, and leg muscle work (some with upper body weights) alternating with pull-ups or chin-ups. Now let me remind you---I cannot do a pull-up nor a chin-up, but I used the adjustable hanging rings that hub has set up in the garage and completed the movements even if it wasn't the full exercise. I'd like to get to the point where I can use a tall chair and the pull-up bar as my next step, but hopefully lifting a percentage of my body weight with the rings will help build muscles---we'll have to see. I felt it working even with my feet flat on the floor and my legs doing some of the work, but I definitely felt it could have been more much intense with a slightly different solo set-up (and I also get a lil shy with hub watching.....). All that being said---my various leg and arm muscles do feel worked......and then I got to end tonight's set with the Ab Ripper X again. To say that I felt the first half of the ab exercises would be an understatement and I'm still not able to complete all 340 individual ab exercises or however many it is that he states. I figure that I'm completing over 200 though, and that's definitely better than how many I was completing a week ago! ;)

Tomorrow is Kenpo X and I'm actually looking forward to it!
